Our terroir is very varied, between granite, schist and clay, but also silica. All these components enrich our wines with unique complexity and aromas.

A Catalan climate

Located between the Mediterranean and Mount Canigou, our plots benefit from a hot, sunny climate and good rainfall in winter.

L’origine du nom “Mas Rous”

On a vineyard in Roussillon, distinct in its charscter, lived the Alberes family, distinct in kind.

Along a narrow winding road at the foot of the Pyranees lies the Mas Rous winery.

In 1850, Michel Bizern produced strong wines, cereals and olives. He falls under the spell of a sheepfold and decides to build his house there. The property becomes for everyone “El Mas del Ros” (the Mas du Blond). Over time, the appearance of the French language, in this region where only Catalan was spoken, transformed “Ros” into “Rous”.
